The Toddler Room

I get asked from time to time about what V's room looks like. I've typically ignored this request until now, due to the fact I think it's creepy you want to see the inside of my apartment, but hey, you only live once. YOLO. I went there just now, didn't I?

So for those who don't remember, and those who are new - I moved into my very first apartment with no room mates last March. It's a small apartment, but it suites my needs very well. It's around 680 sq ft, two bedrooms, one bath, and a weird kitchen/living room area (some would call it a studio room,  but I prefer strange weird room). It's all utilities included (minus fancy internet), and it also came with a washer/dryer and a little storage room as well as an attic crawl space. Oh, did I mention I have an amazing wrap around porch and no gas bill for heat? My top two favorite things about this apartment.

Okay, enough about the apartment, and all of it's tininess. I know you want the goods.

Welcome to V's room! Off to the left you can see the entrance way, and behind me is her clothes closet, that place is scary and will never let a part of it's soul be captured by the camera. Straight ahead, is the "closet" that I had originally planned to use for my shoe closet, but I ended up giving V this room instead of mine.

When you walk around the corner in her room, you'll see her table, art easel, toy box, and play kitchen (Which I might add a lot of my internet friends contributed too). You'll also see her projector nightlight my old room mate found, it projects a princess scene onto her ceiling at night, she loves it. She also loves Diego, no Dora, just Diego - I don't mind he's more animal forward. She knows so much about animals from watching that show!

Also, if you can see on the art easel, her new thing is drawing circles. She will not stop, it's so adorable, oh, and don't forget they're almost perfect circles. I should be concerned about phone calls telling me seven days shouldn't I?

I didn't end up snapping any pictures of her closet play area, but it holds all of her bigger toys, like her "get ready" area, rocking horse, baby carriage, baby changing table/high chair, blocks, and tent. Oh, and her dresser as well. The closet is actually extremely large and useful. I love older places (this house was built in 1930 so I have all kinds of beautiful archways, and strange corners - plus it's completely not level!) This place could be so nice - I wish I could paint. I am thinking about asking my landlord if I could paint her room a beautiful shade of Robin's Egg Blue, what do you think?

So there you have it! A beautiful artist' room. I'm sure she'll invite anyone willing over for a tea party later on.

Rainy Days

So, after finishing my classes last week in hopes of having an exciting next few weeks of just lounging around the house and running the handful of errands I have. We get hit by a rain "week", I feel like I live in Washington sometimes with how often it seems to be raining lately. I'm sure I am not the only person who when the rain sets in, so does Netflix and snuggling with a blanket all day.

I'm ready to see some sun, the kind of sun that makes you wanna spend all day outside.

I guess I got my wish of lounging.

Strawberry Fields

I feel lame for making a Beetles reference, but that's besides the point. This past weekend V and I spent most of our time in the country at my best friend's house. She grew up on a farm so we got the whole experience while there. Big Saturday lunches, lots of kids, and just all around simple fun. It's great to kick back, and drive out of the city limits from time to time to remind me where I came from. I miss living in the middle of nowhere sometimes, I can't deny the beauty in a nice set of rolling hills. And the smell of fresh air is something that can't be compared to anything or described in words.

I really hope now that I am done with my school for this semester we'll be able to have more time like this, I cannot wait to see what the summer holds for us. Plenty of adventures will ensue.
